Taxidermy recommendations Spokane area
« on: September 19, 2024, 05:28:23 PM »
So I drew a quality tag near spokane and with the CWD case they found and the rules they put in place for it I was thinking of being ready to go to a taxidermist there instead of having to jump through the hoops to bring it home.
I would have to clean the skull cap and antlers up and have the cape all skinned out. I am nervous about messing up something when skinning the head. I have skinned heads before, but not that well and this is a special hunt for me.
I would rather have to drive back over to get it later than risk messing it up to bring it to my local taxi
Thanks

I saw this guy on Facebook, no experience with him but might be worth giving him a call

God's Creation Taxidermy!! 509-936-0463

Jeremy is a great guy and an amazing taxidermist. He tans all of his own hides. He did my moose and I had it back in 11 months. Great prices also!

He is in Valley which is about an hour north of Spokane.

:yeah:  Been using Dale for over 10 years; mule deer, whitetails, bear, caribou and pronghorn.  Does fantastic work (and I am picky about taxidermy).

I've used Darin in the past and his work is museum-quality, but he's become unresponsive to calls, messages and texts regarding six shoulder mounts that he's been paid in full upfront for that he gave an October completed date. I understand he lost the guy that does his bird mounts and he was going to have to pick that up, but all his numbers go straight to VM, and messages are unanswered.
Has anyone spoke with Darin recently and know what his situation is?

I called a few times over the last few months about a wolf hide he was doing a taxidermy tan on for me. I think I'm going to do a soft mount for the couch! Seemed to take slightly longer than it should have. I believe he has been overly busy and he also took off for a few weeks to go hunting for himself. You can't blame a guy for that. I don't know what your situation is but Darin has always been cordial and polite to me and never acts rude when I call more than I should because I'm impatient.  :dunno:  His wife even answered to tell me he was gone hunting this year.  :dunno: Maybe try a different approach? Did you get angry and say something you shouldn't have? Just asking to clarify if maybe your relationship soured due to impatience or possibly getting angry and saying the wrong thing?

I've talked to him on the phone 3 times since August.  Just dropped my bull off with him a couple of weeks ago (on a Saturday- he was working).
