Beretta A300 Tactical Shotgun
« on: December 05, 2024, 12:26:37 PM »
I purchased one and started reading up on the shells to run through it. A lot of comments about cycling only high quality hard steel shot, and that soft lead shots don't cycle well and get jammed. Anyone have one and have any thoughts about this. Thanks.

As far as cycling goes, no shotgun cares if the shot is lead or steel.  Makes no difference.  What may matter is how much recoil and/or gas the shell produces when fired.

I agree, it's a coincidence that the light 2 3/4 target loads that some semi-autos have trouble with are loaded with lead.  It's the low powder charge that causes the problem.  For many, it clears up after the mechanism has a chance to break in, shoot a couple hundred full power loads and see if that fixes it.
