Pierre lake, Stevens county question
« on: January 09, 2025, 06:46:43 PM »
Has anyone been by there or fished it lately? I was hoping somebody had an ice report or if it was even frozen. Thanks

Not sure if it is hard water. The temperature last week was infected the middle 30s. My pasture and yard are dirt. There might be 3 inches of snow total on the ground.

I’d be surprised if there was an inch. It’s been too dang warm around here. I’m headed for Cascade tomorrow, probably going to have to travel long and far for ice this year.

Haven't been back over that way for a couple weeks and didn't go that far up, but none of the usual lakes and ponds were frozen.  Snowed a couple inche's around my place near Hunters a couple times but was melted off and gone pretty much the next day. I'd be surprised if it's frozen, but obviously don't know for sure.  Really need those days we usually get this time of year where it's in the teens and lower to put walkable ice on the lakes.

Thankyou all for the info. I’m trying to find a place to take my kid fishing so we will stay away from there. I think we will try along the bank on Roosevelt. Thanks again.

Roosevelt's been good lately. Green garlic or anise powerbait about 3-5' off the bottom has been best for us

Coffin and Thomas on Tiger pass have been ice fishable for a month or more but access is not easy.
