Greenriver quality Elk permit
« on: June 14, 2025, 01:57:17 PM »
Hello all, I was fortunate enough to be drawn for my first quality elk permit. Just curious if anyone knows how the hunting was last year in there? Any info is appropriated super excited for this hunt.

Some good bulls are still in there I’ve seen them.  Should be a fun hunt.  Congrats on the draw.

Appreciate that. Not going to be to picky but would love a good bull. Im having to hunt with a muzzleloader which will be fun. I've heard alot about the elk fields is that where I should start?

Best thing you can do is talk to the shed heads and take their advice. They are usually very helpful

I would poke around on the Lester side.  I am curious how they did in there last year as well.  Natives do a bit of damage but should be some nice bulls around.

Did you do a search for past hunters with that permit?

I read what I could find online but nothing was current.  Im sure things change in there like everywhere. But I can't find anything on how last year went. I know about the elk fields and that's about it for my knowledge in there. Going to be an adventure not being able to scout going blind is challenging. Excited

There you go, this is a great tag. I believe you will be able to hunt bear in there unless something changed the past few years (check the regs). Is there a reason you aren’t going to be scouting ahead of time?

Thank you. I was under the impression that we're not allowed to go in until the morning of the hunt am I wrong on that?

You are correct. You can hunt bear while in there during your hunt. But no preseason entry for scouting or other hunting.
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.
