E Caller Vs Speaker and App
«
on:
February 24, 2026, 07:38:22 PM »
Greetings,
Currently looking at E callers for the upcoming year. Higher end e calls range from $500 - $1300. Is my money better spent on just buying a large bluetooth speaker and using a game call app, like the one made by Doug Boze?

I bought Doug's app. Tried it a few times with a speaker. It's no substitute for a dedicated e-caller. No shade on Doug intended.
I'd potentially be interested in selling my Icotec Night Stalker if you want to get into a good unit at a cheaper price point.

Dedicated e-caller is the way to go.
Nightstalker is my primary e-call right now. I'm very happy with it.
I have a foxpro inferno that I used for a couple years before I got the nightstalker. I might be wiling to sell that if you are interested and your deal on the nightstalker doesn't work out.

The biggest difference between an E caller and a speaker is the shape and the remote. They’re both just speakers playing the sound you pick. Now a $10 speaker probably won’t sound as good as a $300 fox pro but you get what I’m after. I know people who’ve had luck with speakers and apps and I’ve had luck with a $120 fox pro as well as some pretty expensive ones. I think what makes the noise doesn’t make as much a difference as some people think.
Mr. Boze knows a thing or two about predator calling.

Check out allpredators.com, they sell certified reburbished Foxpro. I bought my shockwave from them and saved about $300, no issues. Also check out the sky dog ground and pound chair….
