Deer Shed Elevation

Although I've found some in Montana at 7000 ft, the highest in WA is around 2500 for me.

Found a mess of em last year. Not real sure our elevation but I know we crossed 5200 foot pass and were not too far below that!!! I was shocked!!!

7,000 plus.  I was surprised.  Have now found two that high

3500ish not super high also found elk sheds to about 5000

Found a few over 5000 feet, but not 6000ft............that I can think of.

Found an elk shed just off the top of timberwolf.  That was surprising as well.  Not sure how high that is.

At what time of year do deer and elk shed, seems high considering snow.

I've picked up big whiteys before Christmas, and seen big muleys in April still packing.  All depends on the area, weather, year, and genetics.

I found a 5 point set on the edge of cash prairie not far from there about 6 years ago

about 15 years ago on the 21st of march i saw 2 3 point bucks one had a fresh set of horns that had already strated to branch and the other stll had last years horns

I picked up a nice muley shed @ 9000 feet in the Pioneer mts. of Idaho

found the strangest mulie shed once.  The attached part was in the middle and antler went forward, maybe backward with 2 12 and 18 inch tines going up and a 5 inch fork going one way and a squared off tine uinder it.  There were 2 more 2 inch points going off to the side.   Must have been a regressor.  Found it at 1500ft.

4 point mulie shed on top of Snow Peak in Ferry County, 6,000 + change.
