Nope, but it should be like shooting fish in a barrel.  Make sure you at least hold out for a nice 5x5 or better, so youre not kicking yourself later.

I read some old post about the Margaret and it sounds like there are plenty of bulls just not a lot of big boys. I was always under the impression that the Margaret tended to have bigger bulls then the toutle is that accurate?

There are plenty of big bulls in both units.  If you get on the main herd, there should be some big boys.  If you are bumping locals, the bulls will probably be a little smaller.

Yes they only gave out two tags for this hunt. It is the same dates as the other Margaret rifle hunt, with 5 days in September.

Do the tag justice and hold out for a pig as long as possible. Nice work on the draw, now go buy yourself a lotto ticket!!!    :IBCOOL:

That's what my wife said. I told as far as I was concerned I had just won the lotto. She didn't seemed convinced :chuckle:.

Define Big Boys. If your looking for a 350+ your in the way wrong place. 260-280 is a great bull for the unit. The great thing about the unit is you will be looking at ALOT of NICE bulls for westside big 5s mostly, with some 6's and the occasional MASHER. Both toutle and margaret hold big bulls. But with the margaret being so much closer to the park ( the highway is the divider), they are much more likley to cross into the margaret. Get up there and scout you will see some pigs right now and get an idea of the caliber of bulls in the unit.

When I say big boys I am being realistic for the area I think, plus or minus 300. Which from what is being said I would say that seems realistic. I want to do the tag justice but as far as holding out for a 350 bull I think would cause me to eat tag soup. Its always good to hear from you NWHUNTER. I wish you guys were going to be around during the hunt, would have liked the company.

had the general season permit last year, the picture of my bull is in the ladies forum.  My bull was a little larger than average. we saw lots of bulls every day, and a couple of toads, one I missed at a little over 400 yards. was only a 5 point but was massive. You will find a good one, be patient and hunt both sides of the highway.
