one week...what are you doing to be ready?
« on: August 31, 2010, 11:33:35 AM »
I have got one load (horseback) into the "base camp" already and will have another load to "spike camp" tomorrow.  I've been shooting daily and am wearing my camo jacket/binos/face mask...while i practice.  I have to get some camp groceries and hunting supplies (elk pee, wind indicator...) and pack my wall tent in and set it up, and I'm ready!

What have you got left to do to be ready to go?

Been loading the trailer and doing a little shooting...  Opening day is my little girls first day of kindergarden... so at 9;30 opening day i'm going to be driving 4 hours to camp.  :bash: Mama is working and if i want my sack attached I'm taking pics and playing mister MOM....

Sharpen my broadheads and loose a few more arrows... other than that, I can leave right now!

All ready !   I even changed the truck oil yesterday so I don't have to worry about anything for the season. Mike

Took the trailer up on Sunday and dropped it off.  need to do some grocery shopping Friday, and then head to the hills Saturday.  Been shooting daily.  Bags are packed.  Just need to load coolers and clothes.  The hardest job is trying to stay focused at work the rest of the week  :chuckle: :chuckle:

My hunting partner and I just went up last weekend and planted a couple of game cams and set up a blind.  I'm working a bunch of OT this weekend to build my comp time back up for days off.  This weekend I'll be cleaning out the truck and getting packed!

Got the bow out this morning and shot it for the first time this year and am ready to head out in the morning.  Should be ok, I think.

Actually, been shooting everyday for awhile now, just got done packing up my day stuff for on-the-way-home-from-work hunts this week and will be taking off early Friday for the long weekend.  Feeling good.

Been shooting every other day for the past 2 months.  Set up hunting camp one month ago and have that ready to go.  Groceries, packing, double check everything, and leave on Sunday!  Is it Saturday yet?
