Browning Over and unders
« on: September 21, 2010, 03:03:01 PM »
I am thinking about getting a new shotgun. My last gun was stolen about 3 years ago and I have been using one of my father's extra guns since. I am thinking about a Browning Cynergy field 28 in. barrel 12 guage, or a Browning citori 625 field.

Any input would be helpful.

Both guns run around 1,300 on gunbroker.

Look for a used Citori field or a Broadway or something like that. You can find them less than $1300.00. Keep an eye on www.gunsamerica.com too.

ive shot both and both are good guns, i personally prefer the citori over the synergy.  the new fan dangled recoil system, the angle of the grip and the grip checkering were not to my liking but im pretty ocd about grip angle and checkering (cant shoot and english stock to save my life)

both are quality arms but i would advise you to actually handle each of them before dropping that kind of coin an ill fitting shotgun is about as much fun to use as wearing underwear thats 3 sizes too small

Yes I totally understand. Now the question: Where can I try out each of these guns? I doubt my local dealers have either.

624 great gun. Picked one up used for $1000. Go to Guns West in Yakima. I think he carries Brownings. Or Whole Sale Sports (Sportsmens Warehouse) in the Tri Cities has a big selection of Browning and Beretta  o/u's

So I am looking at some with a 3.5 inch chamber. I can still shoot 3 inch and 2 3/4 shells out of those correct?

Cynergy  I'm up in the air on my next gun but this is one of my choices also. It's between the Cynergy and the Beretta Xplor. I know two totally different guns but thats what I'm looking at.

Browning Citori has a dandy max 4 camo one in the 3-1/2.  It is about $1300.  I almost grabbed one as a back up.  A nice looking piece.  Skagit Arms has one sitting on there shelf.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
