Dad's First Bow. With Pics
« on: February 27, 2011, 03:53:04 PM »
Well my Dad at the age of 56 decided to buy his first bow.  He plans on starting to hunt with it in 2012.  He decided to pick it up since that's what me and my little  brother hunt with.  He is visiting me down here in Alabama and we took a trip to look at some bows.  We had the Pro-Shop set up a Bowtech Destroyer 340, a Bowtech Admiral a Hoyt Maxxis 35 and a Mathews Z7 all set at 60lbs and 29". (all 2010 models because they were $200 off  :) )  After an hour of shooting all 4 bows he picked the Hoyt Maxxis 35.  I didn't help persuade him with the bow I let him make the decision of what bow felt best to him.  I did pick his accessories though  :chuckle:  He got a Spott Hogg 5 pin wrapped sight.  A QAD Ultrerest HDX, an Octan Stabilizer and a Fuse detachable quiver ( If they'd had an Octan Magnetic quiver I would have got that instead)  He also got a Tru Ball Hornet Release.  I'm pretty excited to go shooting with my Dad later this week.  I never thought I'd see the day when I'd get to shoot bows with my Dad.  It may not seem like it from the following pictures but before each bow was bought the intent was to buy a Bowtech but each time each person (my Dad me and my wife all liked the Hoyt model better.)  For what it's worth the Destroyer is an AWSOME, AWSOME BOW!!!!

Here's another pic of my Dad's Bow.

It's never too late.  I hope he enjoys it.

I have the Alpha Max and love it. I'm a big Hoyt fan. The bows are tough as they come. I have had several and never an issue other than changing strings. Good luck to your Dad.
