Poor little raghorn

My second attempt...I found an old heavy 5 pt and a little raghorn that was cut down in his prime...both of which I've probably walked within 15 ft of on numerous occasions   I still have about 6 sheds unaccounted for.  I've had the hardest time finding matches in an area that the bulls live in from late November all the way through August.  Somebody please tell me how to match up my sheds!!!!  It's like they drop one and then run five miles away and drop the other one.

Me either...I turned on my GPS tracklog when I started...after about 4 hours I'd covered 4.7 miles in an area less than 50 acres.

You're doing pretty darn good Coastal! Matches are hard to come by, especially in salal brush like that!

I found a Roosie set one time, laying right on top of each other  Found his horn from Id say 2 years latter but could never find the other side

Did you look for the ivories?   last skull I found still had one.  Looked hard but couldn't find the other.

Cool find. We found a dead bull elk this year some one took its antlers but left the ivory's, so we took them.  always fun finding antlers

Sorry that is not a shed.  Illegal to remove from the woods.  Had a son ticked for one he found and brought back to camp.  The only thing that saved him, was it was not in his possession, or in his truck.  Read the regulations, it is very clear on what a shed is.  Just a heads up.  Good hunting.

coastal is native and I am guessing found that on the rez?? also the pic I see is an ATL so not in possession of the person simply shared through a picture far as I can tell

Sometimes you can contact the wildlife dept. and ask. They have said yes on occasion. Nice find coastal.

True, we currently don't have regulations in place that stop us from keeping dead heads, although I kinda understand why other agencies do.  It'd be nice if they could come up with a system that would allow people to keep them, it seems like it would be a good opportunity for WDFW bios to gather data about natural mortaliy and crippling loss...I'm sure somebody would find a way to abuse the system though.

This one is in a tree in the woods for now, but I might go back for it...when it doesn't stink so bad.
