Shooting Range near TransAlta (Steam plant)?
« on: July 03, 2011, 08:52:52 PM »
Hey I was told by my brother inlaw that there is a shooting range near Transalta (steam plant) in lewis county, were a guy can go and do some shooten. I went out there today and didn't see anything that looked like a shooting range. My bro inlaw is camping this weekend and out of cell service so I can't ask him, so just wondering if anyone knows were this may be.

I think Houndhunter shoots there, I'll have to ask him at work on Wednesday.

I live about 10 minutes from there. It's not too bad. 225 is the farthest u can get. I usually just find a read end spur road. Anyway just drive past the steam plant and its right at the "y".

if you want to go clear some brush and maybe fall a couple trees there is a gong up there about 300 yrds.. Back in the day it was a good place to shoot,  I think Lemay uses it as a transfer station now?  :dunno: .. You can definetly find a pop can or milk jug to shoot at though, maybe even a dirty diaper if your lucky... Enjoy! :chuckle:
