remington old style mountain rifle? 250 savage or 30-06?

anyone using an older style remmy mountain rifle? im looking into getting one tonight in either 250 savage or 30-06...

which would be the better round for deer, will be used for 90% mule deer hunting.

 Cant help you out on the rifle, but as far as caliber goes, I have a 250/3000 and love it, but if you only looking for one gun, go for the 30/06. It will do all that you need and you can change bullet weights and hunt anything that walks. Just my
