My primary is an early Ruger M77 with a tang safety, I shoot handloads and it does not have a brake, what does that make me?  :chuckle:

Manly beyond words.

My favorite is a (pre detachable magazine) Rem 700 Mountain Rifle in .280 with a Brown Precision stock.

I shot this T/C encore in 270 with a 130 grain Ballistic tip, GunKoted green, topped with a matching 3X9X40 Nikon 3200, and a custom laminated thumb hole stock.  Good for short and long range.  Mulie killed at 70 yards, lope killed at 441 yards.  One shot one kill.

I am using my Browning M2 this year, decided to go a liitle light and use the AP 696 grain, i found the 750 grain a bit overkill.  Great all around setup that drops em where they stand, gutted, skinned and quartered.
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I have used my .338 win three times on deer and it worked great with the right bullet the BT seem to put bigger holes. I carry a .243 some times now depending on how tired I'm of carring the 10lb .338 :chuckle:

Tikka T3 Lite .270 with Nikon Buckmaster scope.  Nothing special but it shoots straight and knocks em down.

I really dont think many guns would be over kill on a deer if you hit them behind the shoulder. I have yet to see a bullet have a bigger exit wound than the size of an entire kill zone  :dunno: If you hit a deer in the shoulder with a 338 then it might be a different story but when your shooting a 30 cal mag theres no since in shooting them in the shoulder cus either way there gunna drop. Having said that I shoot a savage 116 in 270

I forgot to mention. In an attempt to counteract the sissy-ness factor of my muzzle brake, I have a giant 50mm objective lense on my Burris scope. Between that and the handloads, hopefully the sissy/non-sissy factor is a wash. I am a little concerned because it is only a 3.5-10x in the power range.

We may let you slide on your scope only being 10x. I am just not sure how you expect to see what others hunters hats say with only a 10 x scope.  :dunno: :chuckle: I do have to ask though, do you have a little pink skirt to put around the end of the barrel where the brake is?  :chuckle:

I'm learning in sewing class how to make one that will stay on...so we're working on that. I need to reinforce the elastic where the waist band on the skirt would be because the muzzle blast keeps blowing it off 10-15 yards away.
