I took this billy in 84 in the Pratt River area. What a fantastic animal to hunt!

I wish the Pratt would reopen there are a lot of goats in there now.  Going tonight to check them out on SI.

BC:

It's a shame the dept doesn't do population counts after they close a unit. There are most likely closed goat areas that could be a permit area again if they would simply do a survey.

I have a buddy who has gone with the bio's. on helicopter surveys and says it is amazing in some areas that dont have permits the amount of goats in them.

That is an impressive goat Falcon.  A nice mount on that.

I applied for Pratt forever and never drew.  I fished a ton in there in the old days.

Shawn,

Thanks !

I killed that billy on my 3 rd day huning alone in a rock canyon adjacent to the Russian Butte. I saw him across a canyon bedded down at 800 yards. I made my way thru a rock garden, and ending up blasting him at around 40 yards in his bed. He jumped up, and took 3 more hits from 7mm mag.

All I can say is pound per pound, there isn't a tougher animal  in North America ! :mgun2:

If you haven't got a tag yet, I hope you draw one. They are a blast to  hunt!
