A new waterfowl hunter
« on: July 16, 2007, 01:30:11 AM »
Good morning one and all. I now live in Kirkland and am interested in hunting ducks and geese. I am an avid bow hunter and am looking to expand my horizons with ducks and geese. Where should I start? Any advice is welcome. Since I moved here from the Elma area, I don't know this region very well. I tried hunting them last year but was frustrated with not being able to find public land that was available to hunt in that area without a boat. I don't want to give up on this adventure and have been looking forward to it all year. Would anyone give me some guidance?

Welcome!

I would go to www.waduck.org and find out when the next meeting is, get involved and attend work parties.

The whatcom chapter will have a blind brushing party in Septemebr sometime, the date has yet to be confirmed. We do all our work on public land.

Don't lose hope man! The first year always sucks....lol. Give it some time. Helping out Otto's group sounds like a good way to get some info on public land. Welcome to the crazy and obsessive world og waterfowlin'

not my group, I am just a member that gets involved. The Washington Waterfowl Association has been around working on conservation issues and promoting waterfowl throughout the stae since the mid 40's

Thanks for the info. I will look up the other group. I have a lot of work to do on my laptop since the hard drive has crashed with all my info on it. I want to be able to get involved with a reputable group and I thank you all for the input.
