@Sour Grapes...looking to get a new stuffer@
« on: December 18, 2013, 10:16:02 AM »
So my 20 lb. Cabala's Commercial grade vertical stuffer complete with the 250.00 motor attachment turned out to be more (housewife grade) then commercial.

After spending 70 some dollars shipping it back I got some bad news. Won't go into that but will not be buying a stuffer from them ever again and possibly just not swing their door/website or the hard cover catalog they send me.

 I believe Bass Pro Shops will be here soon!

Putting out my radar for any thoughts on stuffers! Anyone have a used one they want to get rid of or thoughts on one to buy. I am leaning towards a LEM, have to stick around 10 pounder. As I am not going to spent 600.00 plus again! Appreciate the input.

Check out the Northern Tool site.  As it gets closer to Christmas I get lots of emails from companies I bought stuff from, trying to sell me things.  This morning they had a nice looking meat grinder on sale for $99.00.  I get catalogs from them too, and they have a lot of stuff and good prices!   :tup:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

LEM are good stuffers.  I bought a 15lb vertical Kitchener out of Northern Tool, and couldn't be happier.  I haven't tried it on snack sticks yet though.  I plan on getting the LEM 5lber for that, as I know they work well with snack sticks.  I'm amazed how the Cabela's grinders can be so great, yet their stuffers are the worst.  Makes no sense to me.

I spent a few hours looking on the net. Stopped by Olson's meats talked to some pro's and one thing I am sure of.

 Peperoni or what some call snack sticks will smoke most home use stuffers over time. Still leaning towards LEM or L. Dick. Going for all metal gears and would love a German or even an American made product!  Open for advice from 2-3 hundred pounds a year type of meat men. I am trying to stay under four hundred dollars.

I bought the 10lb Dakotah Sausage Stuffer by Elk Mountain Products this year... no gears to break, one man operation, knocked out 20+ lbs of 3 different kinds of snack sticks in a hurry.

I can tell you this. I have owned a LEM 5 lb  for 5 plus years and stuffed hundreds upon hundreds of lbs of pepperoni sticks through it and never had an issue.  Only downside is that it is a hand crank.

I had one over a dozen years ago and it worked ok. Pretty messy and eventually you will have issues with water... everywhere. Maybe they are better now?

Check out The Sausage Maker inc. IMO Best meat mans catalogue out there. I smoked a cabalas brand first round through, POS, the Sausage Maker brand has worked real well for me.

I have a Dick sausage stuffer, they are on the spendy side but built tough and it works awesome. I started with the Cabelas and it didn't work to my liking... to say the least.
