Rainier Archery Pro Shop?

I can tell you that a couple years ago me and a buddy bought a couple switchbacks and had them put all the latest and greatest accessories probably spent 3 grand total and I remember leaving there thinking that I was interupting the the BS'n hour    ... I wonder how they would do if they had some serious competition

I've had issues with them when I spent a grand on a new bow and all the goodies that went with. They were very helpful until they had my money then not so much  
 I won't go back.

I stopped by there for the first time last weekend to check out some new bows. After spending a couple of afternoons at Achery World in Vancouver and stopping by Three Rivers Archery in Longview, I wasn't impressed  with them either.

If you're in SW WA, I'd recommend either Archery World or Three Rivers. I ultimately bought a Diamond Black Ice at Three Rivers becuase Archery World didn't carry Diamond. It's a bit further up to Longview for me but I was very pleased with the service, technical ability and the BSing. Plus the Techno Hunt at Three Rivers if freakin' awesome!!

The guys at Archery World were top notch too with service. It's nice when they offer 'free' advice and helpful tips to folks shooting on the range while they're working on a bow or some arrows behind the counter.

Slow down fellas...  first off mike, all i did was repost what bowhuntin said about your problem. Nothing against you. But in your post you never say what type of string you bought. You get what you pay for. For me its only winners choice. You can get them at any proshop. He told you he thought rainier was a good shop, but later changed his mind, as he has posted. A typical politition.  I do agree with you bowhuntin, that it is called a pro shop for a reason, and if you had a bad experience with the pro shop you have the right to complain. Name one pro shop that you have never had a problem with. I am in the market for a new bow and came here to see what other bowhunters thought about the bows they have shot. I have an older browning afterburner and i was looking to upgrade. All i did was point out, and wanted to know where you got your bow-tech from, how you seem to have changed your mind on a certian shop. I dont think 9 posts make a majority out of 10,000 bowhunters but i could be wrong. I cant see myself buying from cabelas or sportmans warehouse due to the fact that the pros they hire are making minimum wage. I shot a Hoyt today and cant figure out why anyone shoots them...so much shock. matthews and bow-tech have them beat. Does anyone know what pro shop has the new Elite bows in stock??? I want to try one out.    Bowhuntin...im not trying to get into a pissin match...im just trying to evaluate what everyone says about all the different bows and places to buy them...

actually rainier archery sells the new elite and mathews,hoyt,and bowtech! how many pro shops do you know that has all of the best bows at one place, so you can shoot them and make up your mind on what you want.

I'm not trying to get in a pissin match either. Your statements were vague to begin with, so I wasn't really sure where you were going. If you were in the market for a new bow, why didn't you just say so? As for my bow string it is a winners choice and it wouldn't really matter if it was or wasn't in this case because without serving where my string suppressor is, it will start to fray any string compromising the integrity. I did go out to Rainer to buy my bowtech because I knew he was a dealer and he also had mathews, bowtech, bear, and mission bows that I could shoot and compare. I wasn't refering to the majority of bowhunters in the state, just those that responded to this thread that don't think his service is very good. I have heard that he gets a lot of complaints and I was just trying to get a feel for what others thought of his shop. As for changing my mind I am human, I learn from experience and was optimistic that maybe the first time of not getting very good service was just a fluke, but after going back a second time as stated in my last post, it wasn't and I am not going back. I am not made out of money and am not going to spend more to fix a potential problem that never should have been one in the first place because they did half ass work. If you want a good pro shop, the one I used to go to when I lived in Ellensburg is out in Yakima off of Ahtanum road. It is called AS & J Archery. He does a good job in my opinion. He doesn't sell bowtech, but is a mathews and hoyt dealer. Chaz at the sportsmans warehouse in federal way is also a good one to deal with, can't say that for all the people that work there though. Good luck in finding a new bow, it is always fun shopping for a new toy.

Good question, it kind of sounds like that to me too, but it still isn't going to change my mind about that shop. They are friendly bunch of people, but their work isn't up to my standards.

I steer everyone I know AWAY from there.  Joe couldn't be any more arrogant.  Get past that and he's clueless.  Not good for the bowhunting community at all.  I know two people personally that went in there for their first bow purchase.  They didn't know anything.  Told Joe they wanted to bowhunt that year.  He set them up with rigs that fit their budget.   Sent them out the door with only a brass knock on the string.  NO cushion for the bottom side of the nock.  Didn't paper tune the bow.  Just eyeballed it and said you're good to go.  Both bows were so out of whack when I seen them.  This kind of crap is what leads to poorly hit animals and a bad name for bowhunters.

My own experience was a few years ago.  Went in to check out some bows.  Couldn't get the time of day from him.  All he wanted to talk about was his trip to Spain,  Haven't been back.

I STRONLY URGE YOU TO SEEK ANOTHER SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been using them for 8 years.  I had a very good experience when I first purchased the bow.  Since then it has been a string of problems from poorly cut arrows to mis-stringing my bow and f(&&ing up a season for me.  Mostly irritating things that someone at the range has to fix for me or point out.  I am currently looking at my options.

Bought my first bow from them and will never go back. Went in to get some help on issue I was having with my bow and was blown off. Then the inserts they glued into my arrows rip out in the broadhead target because they didn't glue them in right. I would look for a different bow shop.

I`ve known Joe since before he owned a shop, he is quite the B.S. artist for sure. I wouldn`t recommend him to anyone. JMHO

Someone actually went to the trouble of making a calvin peeing on rainier archery decal for their truck.  Seen it on meridian the other day.  Now that guy had a bad experience.  You might try and run into him and see what he has to say.
