Melanistic blacktail

Looking through my photo album I came across this pic my mother inlaw took. the picture was taken in the battleground unit in 2006. It would have been cool to harevet that one it was open and I had a tag. It never showed back up.

At first glance i thought the same thing. The ears arent rounded out like a deers. It would be nice to see the head in profile. The snout looks like it may be longer but hard to say.
