i was looking at useing these bullets for elk hunting this year. was wondering if any one has used them and what kind of accuracy they were getting out of there bighorn. i have 2 knights one bighorn and a wolverine that is similiar to the bighorn. ive tried the barnes. did not have that great of accuracy out of my bighorn. useing triple seven. may just try some hornandy sst's all though ive heard there are some issues with bullet past 100 yards. i was going to increase my range to 150 when sighting in for elk. that would be my max. thanks

Several in my camp shoot them out of Wolverines and Bighorns. We have great accuracy. Both should be 1:28 twist rates. Do yours differ in barrel length? Or did you let one of your barrels get pitted?

We mostly have the 26" tubes, but the brother in law has a 22" and I believe one of the guys has a 24" version for his backup rifle.

We all seem to find happyness in the 100 to 115 grain range with 777, but couldnt say I've dealt specifically with the 22".

So I'm guessing your playing with a 24" or maybe 26". Maybe adjust your load up and down ofr back and forth between FFG and FFFG and see how that works for you. It may be that they wont both like the same load.

Both shooting the same primers?

Bighorn and Wolverine are essentially the same gun except for barrel length, where the Bighorn is two inches longer I believe.  All parts interchange between both models.

It was the bighorn, then the wolverine, and now the bighorn again as far as I know. It's been offered in different barrel lengths, thumb hole or standard stocks, stainless or blued. Used to come with knight brand fiber optics and now Williams brand. Always came with the supper cheesy aluminum tubular ram rod with the ends peened in.
