I agree..
They say that they are made from spider webs and lichon. The inside looks like cotton balls but I would guess it to be cottonwood fluff..A silver dollar would cover up the entire nest.

update on the baby hummer progression..I estimate they will be on their own in another 7-10 days..I shot my index finger for a size comparison.

What a great photo op. My daughter had one land on her out in the woods a week or so ago. I think it was the birds first flight and that was all the juice it had. Sat for a bit then fluttered off. Tiny little thing. Still had some baby fuzz. I am hoping we didn't boot it from its nest by accident.

and then they were gone! Wished I could have got one more shot of them. They appaerantly stay around the nest buzzing from limb to limb getting their wings under them for a few days. Oh well it was fun.
