A lot, A LOT of people do this in the back country. I have seen fully furnished camps with food and even gun safes. Even though it is illegal your chances of getting caught are slim if you hide your camp in a secret place. I would have to say there is some cool camps I have run across in the william O and other places around here.
I have no problem with serious folks that put in the time and effort to get a step ahead and bury their sealed containers in the ground and cover like there was never anything there. Once again, it may be against the law, but you won't see me turning anybody in.
i also cash most of my camp in well before hunting season,the biggest problem is bears..they can make a prety big mess if you givem a chance..they love to poke holes in water bottles..puting stuff under ground is a good idea but just make sure it wont fill up with water,so always keep that in mind..also dont cash you food with you other gear
