I have no problem with serious folks that put in the time and effort to get a step ahead and bury their sealed containers in the ground and cover like there was never anything there.  Once again, it may be against the law, but you won't see me turning anybody in. :twocents:

Wow I didn't know it was illegal. But I really don't see any harm as long as I bring it out when I'm done. I'm mainly thinking water because there aren't any water sources near by.

A lot, A LOT of people do this in the back country. I have seen fully furnished camps with food and even gun safes. Even though it is illegal your chances of getting caught are slim if you hide your camp in a secret place. I would have to say there is some cool camps I have run across in the william O and other places around here.
:yeah:
I found an old mining cabin one time, deserted except for a sign in log that was dated 77 by the last visitor (this was in '95)
Went back 6 years later and someone had rebuilt it, new deck and firewood, the next year they had 3 galvanized large garbage cans built into the wall, and a keg hanging from the ceiling !
you should see it now...

I have found one filled with beer. The beer was so old and disgusting though I wouldn't even bear to drink it (and that's saying a lot). Its basically littering if you don't pick it up, the wilderness rangers will ticket you for it. Keep it in mind...

thank you kind sir, your welcome at my fire anytime, i know it aint the good ole days, but like i said, i leave the woods with more than what i brought, my camp is 5 miles back into a place along a nice little crick, i generally have the place all to myself, i go out of my way to unplug any culverts i might see that could be problems, i kick back and relax and enjoy the mountains, hell the best part is that i dont have to set an alarm clock, the birds wake me at thje proper time, a hot cup of coffe and i get to hunt right from camp, who in their right mind can tell me anything wrong with that, thats what huntn is all about if you can remember, and its a hell of alot better than comuting to and from especially with these friggin gas prices  :twocents:

i also cash most of my camp in well before hunting season, the biggest problem is bears..they can make a prety big mess if you givem a chance..they love to poke holes in water bottles..puting stuff under ground is a good idea but just make sure it wont fill up with water,so always keep that in mind..also dont cash you food with you other gear  :twocents:

the best way to keep that from happening is to use good water tight totes, bury them and put a stick in side way to keep it from collapsing when you backfill around it, and then put plastic over the top that is longer and wider than the top of the totes and then camo it up so noone can tell its there and the bears dont get to it either..

I do it every year, I just buried a smaller box with foods. I don't see a problem with it, being most people with any kind of common sense and respect  deal with the remains.

Well being illegal I couldn't possibly tell you to just use a 4" PVC pipe that is capped at both ends. One end being screwed on like a threaded cap on one end.  :dunno: (makes it water proof). if it wasn't illegal that is.  :chuckle:
