New to bows (And here)
« on: August 13, 2008, 02:44:37 PM »
Hey, I just bought a cheap kid bow called Bear Warrior 2. I got it because I just wanted a cheap bow to dink around with and not worry about it getting broken. Anyways, I dont know a whole lot about bows, just what I learned in hunter ed. My bow came with these four things, I have no idea what they are. They have a groove on them that fits the bow string. Anyone have any idea what im talking about? And how do I use this arm gaurd thing? lol

Anywho, if I like shootin the bow, I may get a more expensive one, this one only cost me $110 and its fun shooting things up close. Its a 23-29lb dealy which I know sucks. But for a youth bow what do you expect I suppose. I doubt I'll hunt with a bow ever, I just got it for fun.
I'd rather hunt with Dick Cheney, than ride with Ted Kennedy.

Pretty sure those 4 things are string silencers.  And the arm guard goes around the inside of your fore arm, which ever one holds the bow.

Starting low is good.  I just started shooting in June at 45lbs, and have now worked my way up to 55 lbs.

Welcome to the site!

THanks. The arm gaurd has two pieces to it. One I figured out I suppose, but then there is something else that has two holes in it. I have no idea how to use the string silencer, but I would think its pointless for my bow since the only thing I'd be able to kill is small game up really close haha.
