the only reason i confident he was a boar was because he was obviously a mature bear and his attributes pointed toward boar, he had a very large round head/face, ears appeared almost non-existent, he was very blocky and his belly was near the ground. i got to watch him feeding for about 5 minutes at 50 yards so i got a pretty good look at him. sows tend to be a little more streamlined although thats not the rule... i have a hard time distinguishing sex of younger bears. i guess the more bears you observe the easier it becomes
