singleshot12,

Thanks for the suggestion that I won't be wasting my time trying to mooch.  I used to fish in the 80's up in the San Juan's mooching with a herring but the dogfish were so brutal I eventually moved to jigs.  I'm not sure what to expect in Area 9.  I guess I'll try herring first and see what happens.  I will probably catch the great great great great grandson dogfish of what I used to get in the 80's if I rig a herring?   :chuckle:

The dogfish were there and pretty bad if you get to shallow and at certain times of the tide. When the tide was running it was ok. I had 2 rods setup, one with a jig and one ready for mooching. We got fish both ways.
