Please recommend a good, fail safe broadhead sharpener for 3-blade Muzzys.

My best advice would to just buy replacement blades.

Buy the replacement blades. I have heard of guy's using the inside of a ceramic coffee cup to touch up a dull blade.

Buying replacement blades in a surprising answer in light of the fact that most of my broadheads have never been shot.  Essentially, I'm questioning the sharpness of the blades out of the box.  Am I expecting an unreasonable level of sharpness out of the box? :dunno:

The G-5 sharpener works great with a few swipes. I replace about half as many blades since I got one.

I use Trueangle broadhead sharpener on mine. It works fantastic. I can get new blades sharper and shoot a practice blade dozens of times and then sharpen it up to easily shave hair. The blade I shoot is the Wasp SST Hammer. Been using the Trueangle for a long time now. I just went to this web page http://www.truangle.net/product_info.php?products_id=30&osCsid=fc566da9a1ee170a95b618955a97a71b and noticed they have a diamond sharpener now. Don't know if the old stone was replaced with the diamond, but you run the blades across the stone/diamond and then finish with a leather set up and put semichrome polish on the leather to get the sharpest edge possible.

Good reply! And heck no! Don't expect reasonable sharpness out of a box. Find a way to make them sharp enough to suit YOU!
I'd just like to remind everybody that it's about the hunting, not just the killing. In other words, it's about the total experience, the sport itself and the challenge involved. Bowhunting, done right, is a justifiable and honorable pursuit. Done for the wrong reasons, simply chalking up kills and seeking personal glory, it's taking away rather than giving back to a principled way of life that has to be experienced to be understood.
