Saying Hello with a 30lb Goldfish
« on: July 20, 2012, 02:01:33 PM »
Well.... I guess its time to come out of the shadows. Posting here cause the only picture i can drum up at the moment is a stuck fish. Been lurking for a while and never had much to say.
My name is Cory, I have a wife and we are expecting our first child in 2 weeks. Gonna have a little hunting and fishing buddy. I have been hunting since i was 12, fishing almost as long and just a few years ago jumped into this crazy bowfishing game. My buddy and i have done the tournament circuit for the last 2 years, I don't think we'll ever shake the itch to club some fish.
Hoping to join in and contribute some to this site. Just posted a "For trade" on the classifieds as my first post, and as a long time lurker well.....my bad.
With that said guys, keep up the great site!
Just tend your own and live.

looks like fun, do they put up a fight, or i should say how do you fight them attached to a bow, does it reel in like a normal reel, i bet its a blast hauling in a 30lb pissy carp....

I actually have a spinning style reel on the bow and an 8" rod tip with one eyelet. They do put up a great fight even the small ones, unless it's between the eyes then they just float up. The bigger ones will sometimes require your buddy to throw a 2nd arrow in em' and will still tug the front of the boat around.

that is awesome, the differant stuff a guy could get into to keep himself busy, like any other sport probably pretty expensive tp get started huh? can you shoot other types of fish with a bow, like bass or salmon?

We'll be at Boardman this weekend. That kicker got me home that day and one other time this last week. My boats had three motors on it in 2 weeks. Blew 2 200s exactly 1 week apart. Ive got the 2stroke jitters now. This last one seems like a winner though. Hopefully we won't need the kicker this weekend :)

Congratulations on your son! The shoot was a great time. Tons of fish like expected. It's been a great season, hopefully we'll see you out on the water this fall salmon season.
