Cheney area Butcher
« on: July 23, 2012, 10:14:46 AM »
Anyone know of a good butcher in the Cheney/Williams Lake area that will process a deer or at least provide a cooler to hang one for a couple of days?  I have a date with a big buck in that area in a few weeks. ;)

I would just drive it in to the south hill in Spokane and have Egger's meats take care of it. I used them for the first time last year and they are by far the best butcher I have ever used. He guarantees you will get your meat and not burger mixed with others.

Thanks for that suggestion.  I see that place has very good reviews but it's a bit of a drive from my target area.  Dang.

For Egger's you have to debone the meat (unlesss something has changed within the last year). As far as I know the only place in the county that can take in a whole skinned/field dressed carcass is Crown Foods in Spokane.

I took my son's  skinned buck to Egger's south hill last year and had no problem. Each Egger's meats has different policies.

One of the two charges a flat rate and the other charges by the pound, at least that was how they did it a few years ago.  I don't remember which is which.  I have used both and been happy with the meat.  Eggars on the S. Hill would be closest.

Two years ago I called the one on the south hill and they told me I had to bring it in deboned because of something to do with state licensing. They may have it taken care of now.

There used to be a small butcher in Ritzville. I don't know if he does game or not. Might have to google it.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I know the S. Hill Eggers takes them skinned. The Deer Park Eggers, is deboned only last I heard.
The South Hill Eggers isn't far from Cheney if you take the Cheney/Spokane rd, then south to Hatch, They are right at the top of Hatch just off 57th.
