Beautiful hike with some more mountain goats! (7/28/12)
« on: July 30, 2012, 10:33:52 PM »
I had another great hike this weekend with some beautiful country.  Plus I was able to find some mountain goats in some truly rugged country.  Thought you might enjoy.

Mountain goats:

Mount Baker Wilderness mountain goats - 7/28/12

(Sorry for the crappy picture.  My zoom lens broke.  I have a new one coming in the mail.  The video will just have to do for now.)

Steep country:

Big mountain goat track.

Still some great wildflowers out there:

Great pictures, was that a day hike or an overnighter?

I'm really surprised you guys aren't using trekking poles.

I often do but we had pretty light packs.

seems like they just get in the way when you really gotta scramble like that.

That's definitely the advantage of collapsible trekking poles as you can just strap them to your pack when they are not useful or are in the way.
