Beauty bull!  I think I'd leave the velvet on and not get the official score.  I think they'd rule "common base" on both sides at the 4-5 split, so it'd net poorly compared to gross. What I can't believe is that a guy with the goods to have an AZ Governor's tag AND Mossback labeled on the picture would not be doing a shoulder mount: they simply cut the head off with a saw.  There simply can't be that many capes around sized big enough for a 440 bull.  He must have REALLY wanted a skull mount in his house.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Awesome bull.  I think it is funny that they wore camo.  :twocents:

govenor tag or whatever the guy has that kind of coin i would have figured out a way to get that bull after the velvet was rubbed off, i dont know why but velvet just doesnt do it for me, i would have loved to see that bull in a late november pic, but like others have said it aint my coin so my opinion reallyn doesnt count , on hell of a bull though, is it me or does it look like they just cut the head right the hell on off, if so why in the hell would ya do that, got the coin for that tag but not the coin for a shoulder mount  :twocents:

Hate the velvet.   Would certainly use that tag during a different time of year, but to each is own.   They often dump them in August, guess they just can't wait to pull the trigger.   Amazing bull

Looks to me like the head has a cape attached...  :dunno: it is a stud bull. The velvet looks funny on elk but I would do that hunt if I could.

He could have won the tag in the AZ super-raffle. I buy a ticket every year. I tried to look it up but all it says is commissioners tag. That means it could have been purchased outright or won in a raffle.

He didn't have a choice about shooting the bull in velvet. His tag was about to expire. Just an FYI.

Looks like the cape is all there to me on second glance.

Given his situation I would've harvested him and not eaten tag soup, to each his own.

well i guess i would have done the same thing now that i know the circumstances, maybe a taxidermist can get the velvet off and make it look natural, can that sort of thing be done without messin up the antlers  :dunno:
