yeah its to dang bad kids get all excited when they see a buck  :dunno: This buck was with my sons buck the day he shot his buck . But unfortunately for us my sons buck was standing in the clearcut feeding at about 150 yrds and when my son shot his buck it dropped like a rock and we were jumping around all excited about it when I looked up the hill and watched this one jump out of his bed and take off up the hill and he stopped and just looked at us ....wth  :bash: :bash: So I took my buddy in there and he was standing about 100 yrds on the timberline and the rest was history  :chuckle: but it is one I never will forget ...and another thing that makes my wife peesed about it was I was going to buy her a tag this year and take her but I did not ...So this year I promised her she is going hunting ...She has shot a couple deer ..one with her .243 and 2 with her bow ...she just kinda quit going once the boys were old enough to go ..now my boys are old enough to go on their own , its time for her to start dropping some !!! Can not wait for this year to come already

Love this thread on blacktail ghost! These are our deer, the first is my daughters youth deer from the greenriver watershed (camera shy). The second is my biggest, from Hancock 117'' last year late buck. And the last one is a buck that I missed with my .30-06 Thompson center pistol, then went back and found his antlers after the season. Couldn't believe I found them, was sick that I missed him at the time but finding his antlers helped heal the pain.

Thanks, they (blacktails) are the hardest thing to hunt, big one's anyway. It took me many years to get one that big, my daughters was the best memory. She had the youth tag and my dad had the disabled doe tag at the same time. He shot the doe that was with her buck, unforgettable for all of us that was there.

Yea they don't call them timber ghosts for nothing. Put in for that Green River tag several years back when it was better.

3 years ago a youth hunter took a 140 or 150 class buck and the same year the muck's took a 150 class deer, I wonder if it's getting better in there since the mucks are somewhat in control of what they harvest in the shed now. I put in for it every year, nothing like a big blackie.
