No worries...just trying to help. If MrUser needs a few things to borrow here and there....shooting sticks or something....post it up, you never know. Gonna mail out the card for him after he is back from vacation.

I agree.  If we could get a sub forum linked to the youth forum started, I have some connections I could even get adds into the media and maybe we could get a few kids like Mr User where nobody in the family hunts but they want to try.  No better way to turn anti hunters into pro hunters than to take them hunting or, at least take their kids hunting :chuckle:

I'd be willing to take a youth pheasant and or quail hunting in the basin. I have a good dog and some great spots that hold birds. I can't seem to get my step-daughter interested, so I'm sure willing to teach someone who is. I've even got spare shotguns and ammo if needed.

I think a mentor program is a fantastic Idea!  I know the WDFW does a youth-mentor duck hunt in september, but thats the only Mentor hunt I've seen.  And I would like to thank everybody whose helping me to get out deer hunting!

I think it is great to have offers like that. I think it is also very wise to follow the examples set in this thread. Meet the parents, get some "permission" slips, that kind of thing.
