Please Oh Lord, let it rain on our blessed heads so we can send Elk and Deer souls to your heavens.  Amen!

This is exactly why I am hunting the eastside for elk this year
I dont think they will shutdown the Taneum
That is how I ended up hunting the Manastash for 20 years, but no late nights around the campfire swapping stories.
Elk camp with a firepit full of peanut shells is just not the same as looking at glowing embers and planning the next days hunt with my friends...

Understand on the firepit, it sure beats the crap out of everywhere you go seeing no public entry signs though doesnt it ?
And every year some idiot gets a ticket up there for having a fire anyway, the trees over on that side are just red and dead.
sucks to only have one way in and one way out .
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

my new spot is state land, dnr campsite with established firepits.
gated roads with walk in access allowed, see more hunters during closure years, but they are usually too lazy to walk very far behind the gates.
