Missed two...too bad..
« on: August 18, 2008, 07:38:08 PM »
Headed up to hunt for bearskies up north on Sat...get to a clearcut I usually change out of my street clothes and into my hunting gear...

change into them...
walk over to clear cut..take a quick look and head back to car to get some more gear...car has a flat...sigh...(picked up a screw)

No biggie, I got a nice hydrolic jack..

with no hydro fluid.. :bash:..since it leaked out...double sigh...Im bout 5 miles in, and its gonna be a long walk...but i have cell service thankfully...

call my lil bro who comes to bail me out several hours later after his shift...thankfully.

Anywho, I decide I might as well hunt so I start walking up a road...see some very fresh (still wet) yote poop on a scorcher of an evening..walk up a dead end spur into a clear cut...

The brush rustles 20 yards or so ahead...boom! here comes a yote to my surprise... ( i blow kisses, which slows him up, but I am out in the open and he aint buying it) I pull up my .300 WSM and get him in sights just as he bolts into the brush...cursing myself.

Then another bolts from the same dam spot...down a drainage he goes and up the other side...BOOM! the .300 rings out...I see the dirt kick up above him...now he is really moving......throw another in the chamber...BOOM!...missed again..

Gun was sighted in at 100 yards...shot over him twice...not sure if it was the gun or me..but I was stunned I missed..cause I normally dont..

I was just happy to give them a dose of hunter love..even though I missed...

next time next time...
