Well here is what I took out this last go around:

M16A4 type AR-15 w/knights RAS
Nikon P-223 3-9x40
GG&G bipod
LOTS of XM193 5.56



Honestly put, for packing it around the westside and the short range that you will truly be shooting, the above is definitely a rifle made for when I was still living in Eastern Washington. Thinkin this friday it will be this guy:

1971 Colt A1. Lightweight. Barrel twist is perfect for XM193.... and iron sights are dead accurate

Sure, if you aren't wanting to drop on the M-223 or Mark AR, the P-223 has been a pretty good scope thus far. The best part IMO is that you can go onto their website, plug in everything from cartridge manufacturer, round type, enviromental conditions (elevation, wind, temperature, humidity, etc). This will print out a bullet drop sheet I can tape to my rifle and know roughly where my round is striking from 3 to 9 zoom all the way down the BDC. Pretty slick, oh and it will do this no matter what caliber you throw into the computer even though the P-223 is designed for 5.56 weapons.

You can also create custom loads and it will calculate it. As far as the shooting goes, I am not the most technical individual when it comes to scopes. However at 100 yards it was easily "minute of pop can" if that is an indication of accuracy?

Also not too many scopes in this price range have external adjustable turrets, these also have a return to zero ability that makes it pretty quick to reset the zero. Basically pull up on the turret and twist, because it is spring loaded it will lock back into your desired spot.

I'm still waiting for a chance to use it, but I built this with coyote hunting in mind  Surplus Ammo and Arms stripped lower that I put together with a parts kit, upper has a 16" HBAR from Olympic Arms. With the BattleComp on the end it shoots like a dream! No muzzle flip at all I can watch the impact in the scope   




The flier is all my fault... I was shooting next to a M1 Garand with a muzzle break on it... man is that LOUD! Even through earplugs it was painful lol.
