Benelli Nova, Savage model 11 .243, and DPMS A2AP4
MadHatter - looks good, can't wait to see it with some optics!
Damn nice! What you running there for optics?
My go to gun is the Remington 700 VTR .308 with Hornaday SST 125 gr. Sold only by Cabelas they are a light recoil round and group well for factory ammo. My night hunting set up is a Winchester 1200 12 ga with Coyote Hevi-shot. Nice pattern tight pattern at 50 yards. My last is a DMPS Predator Special .223 20" barrel. I have a Nikon Coyote scope and a light mounted on top. Have yet to drop anything with it. I was having issues at night with quick follow shots and calling in more than one coyote. The bolt action just not fast enough for follow up shots or taking shots at multiple targets that usually are not stationary after the first shot with the VTR. I love it but it is loud as it has a factory muzzle break machined in the barrel. I added an Black Hawk Axiom Stock. My son can shoot it with the adjustable length of pull stock and recoil reducing springs. I have a permanent disability to my right hand and need pistol grip or thumbhole stocks to better grip the weapon. Saw a few small coyotes on my recent trip to Bend, Oregon. We camped about 1 mile from a train track and could hear coyotes group howling just about every time a train hit the crossing and blew its horn.
what happened to my photos that I posted?

Here's mine...
My Remington 700 in 30-06 is primarily my do most anything gun. Choate stock, Shilen contour 5 barrel with a 1 in 10 twist, Bushnell scope. It shot well out of the box, but shoots very nice now. Still tinkering with a good load for it.Target from last range outing. Group on the right closest to the bull was Hornady A-max 168 grain factory loads, group on the left was Hornady 168 grain SST factory loads. The flyer to the far right was actually an SST. Had a piece of hot brass from the shooter next to me land in my eyeglass frame and I pulled the shot. Range was 300 yards. For real small critters I shoot a Savage Mark II in .22LR. Out of the box rifle with a different Bushnell scope added. Sighted the rifle at 50 yards then shot a target at 100 using Kentucky windage and Tennessee elevation. Got tired of shooting at the bull, so I stated shooting at other bullet holes. Fun little gun.I just picked up a Savage Trophy Hunter in .223. Nice gun to shoot, and fairly cheap to shoot. Having a heck of a time with the Nikon BDC scope that came with the gun. Won't keep a zero for anything. I've checked the alignment of the scope bases to the barrel, alignment of the bases to each other, alignment of the rings, swapped bases and rings, aligned and lapped new rings. Once zeroed it shoots fine. Next time out I have to rezero again. Sounds like a new scope is needed. Vortex here I come. No pics of this one yet.

I can't remember the model but almost a $1000.00 scope that malfunctioned. He contacted service and was instructed to mail in for repair. 3 months later multiple angry phone calls and threats of legal action he was finally given the option "Well just choose a different model and we will send it to you" I feel three months is totally unacceptable.

The best part IMO is that you can go onto their website, plug in everything from cartridge manufacturer, round type, enviromental conditions (elevation, wind, temperature, humidity, etc). This will print out a bullet drop sheet I can tape to my rifle and know roughly where my round is striking from 3 to 9 zoom all the way down the BDC. Pretty slick, oh and it will do this no matter what caliber you throw into the computer even though the P-223 is designed for 5.56 weapons. You can also create custom loads and it will calculate it. As far as the shooting goes, I am not the most technical individual when it comes to scopes. However at 100 yards it was easily "minute of pop can" if that is an indication of accuracy? Also not too many scopes in this price range have external adjustable turrets, these also have a return to zero ability that makes it pretty quick to reset the zero. Basically pull up on the turret and twist, because it is spring loaded it will lock back into your desired spot.Hope that helps! Short and sweet I am glad I saved the denero and went with this scope!Stinkyrat
