When you post pictures to a public forum you subject yourself to public opinion.

Oh I hear ya man. Even though I know deep down your right from a management standpoint, it would be my biggest as he is this year. If they both came in together I might shoot the big five, but if freak nasty shows himself alone, he might die.

Luckily, the one with the strange right side is not in Mississippi.  Some folks can not count that high.

I agree with Matt and Shane on this one, let him walk for a couple of years and take the mature 5x5. However, that being said it is easier for us to say that because we have all shot larger bucks in the past. Now I have set my goals higher and it is easier to let a buck of that caliber walk.

Now if I was in your shoes and have'nt killed a nice buck then I agree with you and this buck would probably hit the dirt if he came in by himself........ However I dont think I would take him right away, you have a long season ahead of you and my experience has shown that if you take what you think is the best, you will regret it later on.

Two years ago I had a nice mid 150's buck coming in on a regular basis. The first evening I sat in the stand he showed up and I smoked him and he is my best archery kill to date... After doing so I pulled the card out of my trail cam loaded him up and went back home and looked at the pictures. Lets just say that when I looked at the pictures I got a little sick to my stomach.  :bash: I had a real nice 176" buck that was coming in more frequent than the buck I had just shot. Had I known this I would have waited for that opportunity. Instead I let my brother "Beeman" sit in the stand and he took him out on the last day.

Again, we have a pretty long season, and judging by the bucks that you have on cam this year and the ones in the past, I personally would be in no hurry to fill that tag. But, I also would'nt hold it against you if you decide to take him out!

It is a decision that only you can make!    :twocents:

It wouldnt hurt at all. If I make a decision to pass a buck then im man enough to live with the chance of him being taken. Im letting my wife shoot first so the decision is ultimitly up to her. Weather she shoots it or passes it I really dont care, im just proud shes going out. Good hunting to you all.  :hello:

I said IF I decided not to shoot it, I would be willing to live with my decision. However, I feel that both of the bigger bucks on my camera are more then worthy bucks for both my wife and I, especially with a bow. I would be proud to put them on my wall despite how big they COULD end up. If we dont end up getting triple (he has 3 eye guards on one side so thats what ive called him the last two years) and get him next year, I'll just play it off cool like thats what I meant to do.  :chuckle:
