So me and my buddy made plans to head out on Thursday night near wherever we decided to hunt so we could wake up and hike in the next morning. So he says that he has picked a place that is secluded and should be well off the beaten path. I am not worried about it and am happy just to go out in the woods.
We end up getting to the spot that he had picked and it was a parking lot for three trail heads

so we set up camp down the road a ways and about a half hour later a Subaru stationwagon rolled in the the trail head so I couldn't help but give my buddy a hard time about how secluded and off the beaten path.
We woke up at 430 to pack up camp and head out, we hit the trail at 5.
I am not sure what it was but I was feeling really nautious about five minutes into the hike and ended up puking a bunch and my buddy offered for us to just head back and figure out something else, I did not want to wuss out so we carried on in the dark with headlamps.
After about three hours we went four miles to where we had to start heading up in altitude on some switchbacks, two and a half hours later we have gone about two miles further and we are exhausted and not seeing any ripe berrys at all but we spent about an hour and a half scanning the meadows. We were soaked from hiking and started getting cold so we knew that we needed to start heading back soon before we got too cold, we ate lunch and headed back.
We did not see any game animals at all on the trip but I still had a good time getting out and seeing a new place.
