Some interesting numbers.

97% of the population eats meat. Less than 1% are vegan, the Hezbollah of vegitarians. It shouldn't be too hard to convince 97% of our population that eating hunted meat is actually much more animal friendly than eating the caged and feed-lot produced, tortured animals than they eat.

The animals we eat live free range their whole lives, are never given injections of antibiotics, are never given a cattle prod, don't get stuffed in little cages that limit movement for their entire lives. And, we care for and help the game we hunt. Who else does this for the critters they eat? No one, that's who.

Getting a state constitutional amendment to make hunting and fish rights in WA should not be difficult, especially considering that these are the type of people we'll be opposing, vegans. 1%? Really? The rest of America must be able to see reason on this issue.

You are correct.  A message I have been trying to get across to people is the following:

Easy availability of food via grocery stores and restaurants has distorted the public’s opinion of hunting and fishing to one of anti-hunting/fishing or apathy toward the subject.  Many non-hunters and non-fishermen don’t make the connection that they are merely paying someone else to harvest, clean, and package their food products for them when these goods are obtained from grocery stores or restaurants.  This raises the question, “Is it right to force people to obtain all of their food from grocery stores and restaurants?” Anti-hunting and animal rights organizations further exacerbate their distorted and unjustified view of hunting and fishing by continually disseminating their emotionally based propaganda. These organizations also have said, “It’s a solution is search of a problem.”  These organizations are the problem because they are constantly attacking our rights to hunt and fish; we need to establish the Constitutional rights in order to protect our heritage.

There is much work to do to make this happen.  Stay informed and urge people to educate themselves on the subject so they cannot be misled by the onslaught of propaganda we know the "anti" organizations will disseminate.

That's okay. I don't have a problem with that. What I have a problem with is people who think hunting is "mean". These people, if they still eat meat, need to be shown the hypocrisy of their attitude toward hunting. I believe the majority of the people can be shown this.

I heard this yesterday on the radio.  I loved the response from a city spokesman that "No plaque would be erected."
