HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!
« on: September 12, 2012, 10:28:37 PM »
Just been informed that all Green Diamond property has been closed. This is the property I have been doing the majority of my hunting. I have something set up for next weekend on the east side but I really want to keep hunting these blackies. If anyone would be gracious enough to share a spot or two that is only about an hour drive from Olympia I would be very grateful. I don't want your honey holes just a place I can put in the effort. I have been so close but unable to close the deal. i am not a trophy hunter just want put meat in the freezer.Main thing is I can't fill my tag sitting on the couch.

Thanks guys

Have you tried capital forest? I'm not sure if you can shoot does there but I usually see a few deer, not as good as green diamond but it's a place to hunt.

I know some port Blakely spots but I'm sure they are closed too.

Doesn't DoubleJ have a few eating marshmallows in his back yard?
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Try minot peak or wynooche. The nooch has soooo many areas to look your legs might fall off, but you aint gonna get them road hunting there.  Both are not too far from you.
Take a back road!

Not gonna be much open in Wynoochee. Minot Peak has a pretty big block of state land.

Isn't Wynochee mostly owned by Green Diamond?

I would tell you my spot in capital forest if i knew how to explain where it is. Theres lots of deer in there, and good bucks. Get off the roads and beat the brush. Look for rub lines and such.

You can also hunt the south end of 621 (olympic unit) Head to hoodsport and turn left on HWY 119. We have always done well up there in the early season for just a meat hunt. You will also run into some bruiser bucks up there. Then as stated here Capitol forest. Get out and burn some boot leather behind the gates. Either place you will see some action

It's not like you are really thrilled with your HOA anyway.
If it ain't the Declaration, the House Rules or is a designated no arrow flinging zone, I really don't think they can do much other then give you a "You had bad behavior in shooting Bambi" letter.  :chuckle:

There is a crap load of state land just south of you, in the Ryderwood unit...  Lots of clearcuts, etc...  some nice blacktail in there as well....
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

It is written no discharge of firearms to include bb guns and bow and arrows.  It also directly says no hunting.

Hunting is the pursuit of game.  If you don't have to pursue and it just comes to you, call it harvesting.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Officials at Green Diamond Resource Company have announced the closure of the company’s Washington timberlands to the public, effective immediately. All entries are prohibited until the danger of fires decreases.
The closure applies to all unauthorized traffic, whether vehicular or otherwise. Because of the significant danger, any individual apprehended on Green Diamond property may be prosecuted.
Gates with posted signs announcing active harvest operations are off limits to all traffic.
All Green Diamond gates will be posted with signs over the next several days.
Green Diamond owns approximately 320,000 acres of timberland in Washington, located in Mason, Grays Harbor, Thurston and four other counties.

Thanks everyone. I will be doing some computer work on google maps and go hunt to check out everyone's suggestions. I have a lot of studying to get done as my test for Hoquiam PD is sunday but I plan on taking a break to hit the brush as soon as I can. Thanks again.

Try 624 and 621. Diamond Point is always good too. There is a lot of residential but a knock on a couple doors always get me permission. Just be super polite to the Bambi lovers that say no. LOL I'll be up there for the next 2 Saturdays hunting Grouse and would be happy to point you in a productive area.

That's hilarious...

I would have no way of knowing this if it weren't for this forum. I pay no attention to the news of any sort, radio, internet, tv, paper...

Maybe green diamond needs to post their propertly properly at the time of a closure
NOT IN THE FOLLOWING DAYS. i would be extremely pissed off if i got a ticket/arrested for trespassing. Due to their failure to lazy of posting signs days after a closure is issued.
