Small game hunting partner
« on: September 18, 2012, 02:07:37 PM »
Hello, I've recently moved to Seattle from Wisconsin, and finally have all my priorities (job, dogs, woman) in order enough to do some hunting this year. i have a place for black tails this year, but I'm lacking in some good small game action. Mainly looking to hunt rabbits and grouse but I'm open to anything (especially dove). Went and scouted the Stillwater public area and found a lot of coyote *censored* and not a lot of rabbit signs. i know this area is used mainly for duck and pheasant, which was reinforced by the big NO RIFLE sign posted right out front. I guess they just let the coyotes have at it.
We used to just go out with a 22 and walk the fields, picking them off at about 60 yards under the treeline. looking for someone to go out to some public land sites, or knock on a few doors with me. alternatively, if any of you have a bit of land where the rabbits are a problem, I'd love to help. Maybe even if you have some good duck/deer land I'd love to be able to get out there for small game, i always pick up my brass and i would be very willing to help with any maintenance that needs doing. Plus id stay well away during your season, so no worries there. Any tips you guys have for small game in WA would also be appreciated. i have found a lot of helpful info on this site, but it never hurts to ask for more :)

Idk about land but if I'm not working I'd love to small game hunt. Even if you can't use a rifle there we could blast yotes with slugs.

Nope coyotes only require small or big game license. I don't think I will be free for a weekday hunt this week. Just now getting to my unit on JBLM tomorrow so it may be Fri night or sat before I can get out to hunt.
