Best private wild bird land
« on: September 18, 2012, 04:19:19 PM »
New to WA and I'm trying to learn where to hunt.  This forum has helped so far with some great grouse spots that have been extremely productive.  Really can't wait to get out after the rest of the upland species next month.  So I've already resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to be doing a lot of driving with some hit and miss before I really figure out my "favorites."  I'd also love to have a spot where I can be fairly confident I'm going to have some great hunting when not in the mood to explore.  I've seen a lot of preserves but wondering if anyone offers just a big private area to hunt wild birds.  Happy to pay for a membership or to hunt.  Not interested in planted birds just a place I can take the dog that has some great wild bird hunting.  Is there such an animal?  I'm looking into it myself (with the help of the google:-) but thought I'd throw it out here and see if anyone might know of something off hand.  In case it matters, I have an excellent pointing dog that covers lots of ground and tough terrain is just fine.
Thanks

Try Googling "Deadman Creek Outfitters".

Thanks for that.  Sounds really good.  I also found a couple others in Oregon for anyone else interested.  Ruggs Ranch and the Flying Double F Ranch.  Any one else?

Family Hunt Club has alot of land under lease, I've had a guest membership for a couple of years and have had alot of good hunts,  My hunting partner has a full membership.  You have to work for your birds but it is a pretty nice set up once you figure out how it works.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Deadman creek seems to have a good operation if it werent so far away it would be tempting.
