Morton area
« on: September 19, 2012, 11:40:40 AM »
My buddy has an aunt with a cabin down in that area. We are thinking of going there pretty soon to get away. I was wondering if anyone has hunted down there, and is there a decent population of deer? Im not asking for spots, just if anyone has hunted there. I will try to find my own animals. Thanks

Morton would be a great central location for some deer hunting. Lots of options depending on which way you go from there. You've got the Skookumchuck, Mossyrock, Randle, and Winston units all close by. Lots of public land, and private timberland open to hunting.

I hunted there last weekend. Hot and very dry... Very little deer activity - just a few does. Make sure you have a bear tag as there's lots of bear sign.

There's plenty of opportunities for deer around here. Just gotta go find them. What season are you going to be hunting?

Ive got family property in that area.  Always see plenty of deer, and yotes too. Not a bad idea to take fishing pole  either.
