Back from the backcountry with a deer on my back

A beautiful five day trip into the washington backcountry. We had nice weather, saw a few hunters and watched deer every day and seen one bear. First two days I passed up some bucks and kept looking for something bigger, but on day three with my hunting trip coming to a close the next day I jumped this buck from his bed and took him at 185 yards. Average size deer with a pretty big head and 25" ears!!!! Probably would have looked real nice with another year on him. But I am more then happy with him. I went into the hunt looking for a better 4 point then the one I had taken last year and I sure enough did that. Still looking for the big one though! My father-in-law and my brother-in-law went with me and we had some great fun times. my brother-in-law went out early before I shot my deer so it was just my father and me packing it out. two trips one for gear one for the deer. I went in with a 57 pound gear pack and we split the deer up on two pack frames coming out. weighed all the deer meat and head and it came to 85 pounds so not bad really just alot of extra milage. had a blast learned alot about the area and was one of the best trips I have been on so far. I am up to 13 days of backcountry hunting and have taken two bucks.
