ive got a new vaquero blued with the 5.5" barrel in 45 colt. absolutely love this gun, the action is smooth as silk and the trigger breaks like glass. only downside is 45 colt is a reloaders caliber anymore all the factory 45 colt ammo ive seen is close to a buck a round, oh and the factory grips are ugly as sin, im looking for a nice set of  woods ones to put on mine

Ive also got a new vaquero (stainless) with the 5.5" barrel. I also absolutely love it. The action is smooth as silk. I have the original Vaquero as well and there is no comparison.

If you think it is smooth now.  Get the inside of the frame deburred, and all the trigger and hammer and sear mechanisms smoothed.  Then put a spring kit in it.

Now that is smooth as silk...

I have shot a couple of them. They seem to be nice guns. I have not spent much time with them but they have a nice trigger in them and shoot well from what I have seen.

I have got the original one in 45 colt.  The insides have been slicked up, throats opened up, and the forcing cone reamed.  It is a great gun.  Used to load it hot, but now a 280 grain cast bullet on top of 8-9 grs of unique or universal takes care of most my shooting.

Huntbear had me order the spring kit from Brownells, then he installed it for me.  Total different gun.
