I joined them last year. Started sending me unwanted books. They wanted me to send money for the books. Hell no. They threatened to send me to collections if I didn't pay. I think they are a worthless group myself. I told them to shove it and haven't heard a word from them. I also signed up to be a tester, nothing. I think they are only in it for screwing you to get to pay for things you didn't order. As stated in others answers, you'll never be a tester as they advertise.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

They just re-did their whole product testing process and I like it.  You can check it out at www.stuffstuff.com  I am a life member and I have tested a few items but nothing real big.  I would say that it is a perk of being a member but not something to join the club for.  I would recommend joining if just for the blogs and articles on the site, plus you get the magazine and for $12 a year that’s a fair deal.  :chuckle:

What pushed me away was not so much that I never got to test anything(though that was a small factor). The main reason I dropped my membership and will not renew is the practice of sending crap to members that were not asked for, with the assumption that if they fail to mail it back, or if it gets lost in the mail the member gets billed for it.

Steer clear of them unless you want to get a ton of books and crap you didn't order.  Chances of actually field testing anything is slim to none.

Somehow I though I'd sign up "just to see" and they kept sending me stuff that I would have to return or be charged.  One time they sent me a bill for something never received and then continued to harass me for months.  After a couple letters and phone calls I finally got out of their Club.

The magazine had a good article on occasion but contained way too much on food plots for whiteys, baiting for bears and turkey hunting.  If it had more muley/elk content I'd give it a better review.

All and all, just throw their garbage where it belongs, in the garbage.

Subscribe to Eastman's or the RMEF.  At least they are legit and will send you a knife or elk call with your subscription.

I'm actually suprised they havent' been shutdown for false advertisements. They must have a loophole and good lawyers to avoid it.

I've been a lifer for 22 years. It's so commercialized any more that I wouldn't join up now. I've tested several things but nothing too major except for a climbing tree stand that really is a piece of junk. I've gotten my money's worth out of them several times over but that being said if you look on their forums most of what you'll find is people complaining about the club. That many people can't be wrong!

My husband was a life member but you have to micro manage it or u get charged for things if u don't pay attention.  My husband does not.  I finally got him to cancel it.  Even if they sent him something to test he would never take the time to write in about it.  Great for an organized person maybe.

I've been a life member since 1994...U have to agree about the getting CRAP you didn't ask for and having to send it back. It seems that now they have a super duper "Trophy Life Membership". I keep getting notices in the mail asking me to "upgrade". Those all go into the recycle bin...In all the years I have been a member I received a hunting knife (last year in 2011) to field test. Looked up the knife and it was worth a whopping $18...  :chuckle: Not bad for almost 18 years of waiting.  :pee:

The only good thing about mys situation is that I get the magzine free now...I've been a member long enough to more than pay for the dues. IMO, not worth joining and I have no problem sharing that opinion with anyone that asks.  :bdid:

I had a similar issue with a military book club I mistakenly became a member of after buying a book from them. They kept sending unordered on wanted books in the mail usually four at a time, then billing you for them. After returning to sender about 10 times with notices to stop sending me things, I went to post office and talked to the post master. He informed me that "anything" that arrives in your mailbox unasked for, now belongs to you free of charge.
I started keeping their books. After many threats of collections they finally stopped. I had about 20 new books, lol.
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.
