The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

Man what a day!!!

First I would like to thank (Labs07) a member on here. Thanks for helping me get this bear out of hell hole #1.

SO Labs07 has drawn a muzzy peaches ridge tag. We had been scouting for the better part of the morning and seen a few bulls. When i decided to go way up high and do some scouting on an old logging road. Well we get out of the truck and I decide to pack my rifle, we head down this loggin road (hasnt been used in 20 years) we get down about a half mile and spook some elk, we stop and listen. then 25 yards away right on the logging road in some christmas tree size firs i seee ELK ANTLERS, Giant ones but can only count 5 points on each side, I cannot see the head or brow tines. Any way the elk catches our scent and walks off over the edge, I walk up to where the Bull was and all hell breaks loose to my left! I *censored* you not a bear comes running out of the trees across the logging road, jumps up on a log and gives me one split second to get off a shot before he bolts! BOOM! 300 RUM reported! As i shot the bear was on the move or very close to it.

We walk over there and NOTHING! no blood no tracks nothing, vanishing bear. We decide to sit for 30 mins then start searching. We began to look for sign 30 mins later and didnt find even a drop of blood in the next 30 mins, then Labs07 finds a drop of blood 30 yards straight down into hell hole.  we continue dwon looking for blood, NOTHING!  again 30 mins goes by and we find some more about 30 yds away,. Now I ull out my pistol thinking we got a wounded bear in the thick stuff, so down we go finding blood here and there. Then I see a foot square blood spot on a big ol log, we decide to havea candy bar. as I finished eating the candy bar, I look at the blood spot and there lies the bear right next to it, piled up on the log!!! YAHOOO!!! Bear down. We gut it , cut it up and I take the front half and he takes the back half. UP the friggin hill we go, ( I got on frickin cowboy boots) ya i know dumbA**, heck were were only going for a walk!!  ANy way 3 hours after I shot we get back to the truck and head for the nearest ice!!.

Hunted this area for 27 years and this is my first bear ever!!!  Man what a day...  Bear was about 120 lbs, but its a trophy in my book!!!
Glad i got you all laughing over the Beard DOwn thread!!!!!! ha ha ha  i finger Fckd it.
Thanks again Labs07, IM ready to pack your monster bull out next!!!
