Any ideas on when the peak of the rut should be?

Just guessing here, but I'd say the 3rd week of September.

I hunted it last year and I have 2 pieces of advise. #1 be ready for your shot. #2 if you bugle and you get a response don't keep bugling to bring him in. It usually won't, try to get a fix on his position and work your way towards him. If you continue to bugle he will use that to fix on your position and keep a good amount of property between you and him. Happened over and over again last year until we learned our lesson. Good luck and I really don't need to say this but have fun! Best 9 days of my hunting life.

sdwwaverider...since repeated bugles didn't work what did the trick? Did you put on a stalk, cow calling??? Just curious.
