Post some photos from this year's hunt

Just thought I'd share a few photos from this year's hunt in the Wilderness. Spent several nights with no tarp, but didn't take any photos of the bag on the ground.

These were from Wuppinsticks sheep hunt, the first is hiking back out the canyon the day before the hunt, you can see how bad the fire smoke was. The second pic is after a blown stalk, we had to follow the rams over two ridges to get back on them. When we had finally found them again, the wind had cleared the smoke enough for some decent HDR shots.

Thanks 400, you have to bracket the shot. Have you ever noticed how a lot of your pics never look like how you remember them, how the clouds were kind of 3D yet your picture makes them look blah? Well thats because a camera/lens can not capture all the shading/aperture that the human eye can in one shot, but it can capture all those shades/depths with seperate shots. By bracketing the shot you make the camera take multiple shots all in order. The second pic is actually 3 different images, one under exposed by 2/3rds, one neutral and one over exposed by 2/3rds. HDR software is needed to layer the images over each other, creating the final image.

looks like a pretty lightwieght setup with that paratarp...how much does that wiegh with rope stakes and tarp? great pictures Phool!

I use 90# sturgeon leader for the guy-lines--strong and light. The paratarp and all of those stakes and lines weighs about 19-20 oz., but that is a guess since I don't have a scale that small.  I use sticks for poles, so no weight for those.  I have been surprised how much warmer I am in the paratarp v. just the bivy on the ground.  With no wind to instantly steal the heat, I usually have to take my hat off because its too hot.

The stove weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a huge bonus to come "home" to.

SL4, which Go-Lite replaced withe the SL5.  See my reply above about stove: Kifaru style stove.  You can just barely see the pipe in the photo. Its behind the pole inside the tent and just visible past the tent peak outside the tent.
